Founded in August 2017, my custom apparel business began as a creative outlet and a way to put my art degree to work. What started with a simple shirt order for a bridal event quickly grew through word-of-mouth referrals and community support. As I expanded into custom jerseys for local school teams, I also discovered a greater purpose—mentoring students and adults on how to launch and manage their own on-demand apparel businesses.

More than just printing T-shirts, my work empowers others to express themselves, learn entrepreneurial skills, and build confidence through creativity. I help bring ideas to life across a range of canvases while teaching business fundamentals like project management, marketing, and mental wellness. Today, my business serves not only as a creative service but as a tool for inspiring calculated risks, fostering growth, and building stronger communities through knowledge and self-expression.

Our community is a diverse, working-class area where many face barriers to economic opportunity, especially in creative and entrepreneurial fields. Access to mentorship, job training, and hands-on business education is limited particularly for youth and underrepresented groups. DK’s Screen Prints and Custom Designs helps address these gaps by offering real-world skills in design, branding, and entrepreneurship. Through workshops, one-on-one mentorship, and potential employment opportunities, we provide a supportive space where individuals can build confidence, launch their own ventures, and contribute to the local economy. With the right resources, we aim to expand our impact and become a hub for creativity and economic empowerment.
